You Can Make a Difference
Since its inception in 1956, the Lake Erie Ballet has been developing young artists and is devoted to preparing our young people of today for their future regardless which career path they may choose.
As the organizations newly appointed Artistic Director, and since retiring as a prima ballerina from the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in 2000, I’ve been instructing and choreographing locally and nationally in which I’ve found my next calling. My approach ultimately continues to evolve as this lovely art form progresses to reach new creative levels that appear to be without boundaries. My beliefs and standards are strongly inspired by my extensive training in Russian and Cecchetti but mostly impressed by the George Balanchine style. Mr. Balanchine found as I do, great results in the fine-tuning of precise technique and fundamental repetition.
Lake Erie Ballet is a state-wide recognized professional track school of ballet and other disciplines of dance that develops exceptional dancers and people. Lake Erie Ballet believes every aspiring artist deserves the opportunity to explore his or her full potential, and strives to make classical ballet training accessible to all talented students who have the desire to dance.
Lake Erie Ballet is also dedicated to rigorous technical training in a culture that fosters personal growth and by teaching impeccable technique as well as fundamental life skills, their students go on to find success in dance and life.
The business community is a valued partner in Lake Erie Ballet’s artistic, touring, education, and outreach activities. Corporate contributions of all sizes, in-kind gifts, and matching gifts enable the Ballet to train and perform at the highest standard of artistry. A corporate contribution to the Ballet is an investment in the cultural life of Erie Area residents and visitors.
Leading corporations—local, and national—choose to become members of an elite community that supports the Ballet to raise their corporate profiles and enhance their position through a commitment to one of Erie’s leading dance institutions.
